Zanzibar is a semi-autonomous archipelago (island group) of Tanzania in the Indian Ocean. Famous for its white sand beaches, turquoise water, coral reefs for snorkelling, and its historic Stone Town (a UNESCO World Heritage Site). Also known as the Spice Island for its cloves, nutmeg and cinnamon. Population: 1.8 million.
