Belgium

Belgium, past the tourist trail

Ghent guild houses, Ardennes valley hikes, Antwerp diamond quarters — a nation hidden behind the chocolate shops.

Belgium offers far more than its capital lets on. Bruges’ quiet stone lanes hide small workshops and family-run boutiques few visitors find. To the south, the Ardennes moves at its own rhythm — thick forests, hidden caves, and villages built from grey stone. Antwerp’s old port has grown into a hub of design and craft, blending centuries of trade with fresh creative energy. The Flemish belfries stand tall over small towns, each one a symbol of local pride built over generations. Our team looks for Belgian hosts who know these hidden sides — Ghent chocolate makers who open their kitchens, Ardennes trackers who know every forest trail, Antwerp artisans rooted in the diamond trade, keepers of old abbeys and quiet farmland. Frankenbridge is currently building its Belgium collection. New boutique tours and genuine local experiences will be added as partners pass our review.
